Special Events

For the fourth consecutive year, we will host a weekly Yarn Arts Happy Hour at the farm on Wednesday evenings in June, July and August. Come spin, knit, crochet, snack, and relax with us outdoors under the awnings in the pastures of Fair Meadows Farm in Auburn. This is a free event, and we have our SpinAlpaca products (yarn, spinning fiber, patterns, tools, books, etc.) available for sale during the happy hour. Please call to reserve a seat.

Non-breeding male alpacas available for sale-four colors to choose from.

This year we have a Sing Square Log Home under construction at Fair Meadows Farm. The building envelope is constructed one layer at a time, like bricks, and provides the home with both an interior and exterior finished face. We hope to move in in 2008!

This May we hope to welcome a new cria (baby alpaca) to our herd. Papa-to-be is Alpha Romeo of Genesis, and Mama-to-be is Sunbreak's Cassiopia.

June is shearing month, and it is always a surprise to see the alpacas transform from fluffy fellows to skinny stick figures.

In July 2006 and 2007 we participated in the Seattle Mariners Stitch N Pitch at Safeco field by setting up our SpinAlpaca booth for all the yarn artists in attendance. Check back for more details on our 2008 participation in this event.

The King County Harvest Festival in September has been an event we've participated in for years. Check back this summer for an update on our plans for 2008.

We enjoyed our September Open House in conjunction with the National Alpaca Farm Day 2007, and we plan to participate again in 2008.
