ALPACAS OF FAIR MEADOWS FARM

Fair Meadows Farm is a family business nestled in a lovely hilltop meadow between Seattle, Tacoma, and Mount Rainier in Western Washington State, USA.

Started in 1998 by Eva and Steve Gallagher, with three llamas, and three bags of fleece; we now have 16 alpacas living with us, and a store dedicated to alpaca fleece and yarn and fiber arts products.

This is our 10th anniversary year here at the farm! Our children have grown up surrounded by 8 acres of pastures and trees and an ever changing herd of alpacas, llamas and the occasional flock of chickens. We continue to homeschool, as well as process and sell alpaca fleece, yarn and fiber arts supplies, garden soil amendments, and lead the busy life of a family with school age kids.

This is our second year growing an edible garden using our own garden soil amendment. Eating a salad picked minutes earlier from your own garden is tremendous!

Our family can now be seen out and about wearing hand made alpaca sweaters, since the kids are more independent and Eva has more time for knitting and spinning.

In September of 2007, we were featured in the Seattle Times Shop SE section on the cover article about the national Alpaca Farm Day. We enjoyed sharing our alpaca farm lifestyle with all who came out for the open house.

We caught the attention of the Tacoma News Tribune in March 2008, and expect to see an article on the Gallaghers of Fair Meadows Farm in their pages this Spring.

then leave the text describing the Mariners, Yarn Arts and Alpacapalooza

We participated in the Alpacapalooza show in April at the Puyallup fairgrounds. We came home with three second place rosettes. This was the 7th Alpacapalooza for Alpacas of Fair Meadows Farm!

We enjoyed the opportunity to participate in the Seattle Mariners Stitch N Pitch for the second year last July. We look forward to next year.

Our Yarn Arts Happy Hour hosted several yarn artists for a relaxing chance to visit, share stories of vacations and celebrate life's milestones together while enjoying delicious snacks and working on knitting and crocheting projects.
